After a long battle with breast cancer, Survivor’s Jennifer Lyon past away.
Jennifer Lyon appeared on Survivor’s 10th season as a 3rd runner-up cast member.
Jennifer Lyon passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 37, and reportedly the first of Survivors’ 300 contestants to die. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2005 and took the time to write about her diagnosis and treatments in People Magazine.
Lyon’s treatment included a radical bilateral mastectomy. Chemotherapy and Tamoxofen were also part of her treatment regime. She appeared on Survivor Palau, Season 10, as a 3rd runner-up cast member.
On the major social media outlets, such as Twitter and Facebook, cast members, friends and fans alike showed an outpouring of sadness as they celebrated her life. “Jenn Lyon passed away this evening. The world is a bit diminished, and denied one of the most beautiful smiles ever to grace,” Anthony Robinson tweeted. “2/27/72-1/19/10 Jenn Lyon brought more good to this world in her almost 38 years than most will in a lifetime. Jenn, I’ll miss you. R.I.P.,” Eliza Orlens said on Twitter.
Over a year ago, a fan made a compilation/montage of Jenn Lyon for YouTube. In addition, her website still shows the beauty in what was the Jenn. Jeff Probst, the host of the immensely popular reality show, “When you cut through the social barriers that so often hamper us, it’s amazing how quickly you can become close with someone. Jenn made it very easy. She didn’t have any interest in wasting time,” he said.
