Sons of Anarchy Star Arrested
Mark Hiedrich, who is a star of FX’s Sons of Anarchy, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer, according to TMZ.
Hiedrich, 55, also known as Mark Boone Jr., was arrested Tuesday in Glendale, Calif. It seems he has been accused of attacking a cop during what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop.
TMZ is reporting that backup officers had to be called in and Hiedrich also faces a charge of resisting arrest. A police spokesman told a local Fox affiliate that there was no evidence that alcohol or drugs played a role in the alleged assault. Details are still scarce as to the exact nature of the incident.
The timing of this whole ordeal is rather interesting. It could be brilliant, if Hiedrich, who plays Bobby Munson on the show, was seeking publicity. However, it could be embarrassing to the series if that was not his intention. The new season of Sons of Anarchy premieres in exactly two weeks on FX.
The drama centers on an outlaw band of motorcycle enthusiasts who “must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers,” according to the Sons of Anarchy website. Was Hiedrich confusing televised police drama with real law enforcement?
