Jennifer Lopez out as ‘Idol’ Judge

Jennifer Lopez is out of the running for the next ‘American Idol’ judge.

With Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres both having exited Fox’s ratings juggernaut, the network has been looking for suitable celebrity replacements. J. Lo had been widely rumored to be in the final stages of closing a deal, but it reportedly fell apart due to her demands.

“Her demands got out of hand,” a source close to the situation claimed. “FOX had just had enough.”
Reps for FOX, “American Idol” and Fremantle declined to comment. Jennifer Lopez’s rep was not available for comment either.

Nick Cannon, however, told The Hollywood Reporter that wife Mariah Carey would love to have the job – if it would work with her demanding schedule.

“She talks about it. She says, ‘I would love to do that,’” the “America’s Got Talent” host told THR. “She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do ‘Idol.’ Let’s start the campaign!”
