Ann Ward has beaten Chelsey Hersley in the season finale of America’s Next Top Model.

Ward, who is only 19, raised eyebrows when Miss J. Alexander measured her tiny waste by proving he could fit both hands around her narrow torso. Tyra watched, yelling, “Look at that waist!” Tyra later apologized for the “style in which the Top Model promo clip was presented.”

Upon winning the coveted title of America’s Next Top Model, Ward received a modeling contract, a $100,000 Cover Girl contract, and a photo spread in Italian Vogue.

“When I saw that I was the winner, I really choked up,” says Ann, “It was really emotional for me because I’ve been through a lot. I wasn’t expecting to win. It totally caught me off guard.”

She went on to say, “I’m going to invest in my career. Like, going to New York or wherever they want to take me. I don’t want to blow it. I might splurge on video games because I’m a nerd like that.”
