Alec Baldwin: ‘SNL’ finale
Alec Baldwin has just discovered that he will be hosting next week’s popular television show “Saturday Night Live” Finale.
While Betty White, the 88 year old television star who is still going like the Energizer Bunny, has know for a while that she will be hosting this week’s SNL-after a campaign on Facebook had fans from all over joining the group “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)” and requesting that the “Golden Girls” star be allowed to host SNL.
Betty White has also recently signed a deal to be in a new sitcom with Valerie Bertinelli. She will be playing the part of a feisty caretaker of a home where three other women live with her (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick). White is well known for her work in “The Golden Girls” which aired from 1985 to 2992, and won the actress a lifetime achievement award.
Alec Baldwin, on the other hand, had no Facebook page to cheer his appearance in next week’s SNL on. The show, which will air a week after Betty’s appearance, will include music star Tom Petty, and will be Baldwin’s 15th appearance on SNL. He and Steve Martin hold the same record. Baldwin was just informed of his part as host of the show last week during the White House Correspondent’s dinner. NBC is being kinda quiet about other details of the show. Baldwin has been married to Kim Bassinger since 1993, and says he would never want a trophy wife. “What’s worse than waking up with a 25-year-old woman, you know what I mean? You want to go shoot yourself because you have nothing to say to her. Seriously,” Baldwin said in a statement. If only all of Hollywood could be so wise…
