Space Shuttle Discovery: Smithsonian Institute Will Keep It

Space shuttle down has finally reached its destination that is Cape Canaveral. Space shuttle discovery arrived in Cape Canaveral on Wednesday. So this long mission has successfully come to an end after facing so many hurdles and problems on its way. Space shuttle down has been operated from 1984 and it remained till 2011. The mission also got the honor for keeping the spaceship for 365 days in the space for the first time ever in the history. With the age of 27 years 39 mission have been launched by the shuttle. Both the missions including research and international space station assembly, has been successfully performed by the discovery. The weight of the discovery was slightly lesser than Columbia with approximately 6,870 kg.

It travelled across the earth’s atmosphere and reached the runway at about 350 km for each hour. Finally the shuttle landed at the Kennedy Space Center. The Smithsonian Institute will keep the shuttle and will put it on display after the mission is done. The outstanding history of Space Shuttle Discovery will be written in golden words and it would always me memorable for the people.
