World Record Elk
A new world record may have been set for largest elk antlers in hunting. The elk that was produced in Monroe Mountain in Utah which is very limited in the amount of hunters let in. The antlers span 500 inches and the elk was nicknamed “Spider Bull” both because of its webbed 9×12-point lattice of antlers and because hunter Denny Austad got the help of Mossback Outfitters and was shot September 30 on public land after nearly two weeks of pursuit. The elk had more than 500 Boone and Crockett Club non-typical gross points (the current world record was 465 2/8). A very elusive elk, and quite a nice haul for that hunter. I wonder if the antlers will go on his mantle or to a museum.
