Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren has been seen in public without her wedding ring on.

A recent photo is fanning the flames of speculation that golf phenom Tiger Woods’ marriage is buckling.

The Sun reported that Elin Nordegren was not wearing her wedding ring while pumping gas. The Sun shows the first published photo of the former Swedish model since Woods’ sex scandal broke last month.

Woods’ car accident on Nov. 27 set off a firestorm of reports of rampant extramarital affairs. Woods said he regrets transgressions and announced that he would take an indefinite break from professional golf. “I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person,” the world’s top golfer stated Friday on his Web site.

Speculation that the couple is headed for divorce is growing. Nordegren bought a house on a small island off Stockholm on Dec. 1.

Woods, 33, and Nordegren, 29, have been married for five years. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Sam Alexis, and a 10-month-old son, Charlie Axel.
