In a three year deal with an option for a fourth year the New York Mets sign reliever Francisco Rodriguez to their ball club. The deal was worth an estimated 37 million dollars. The fourth year option would vary depending on if K-Rod pitches the assumed amount of pitches over the second and third year of his time with the Mets. The fourth year would give him 14 million on top of the 37 million. Quite a nice bonus! The Mets will need better pitching if they hope to make it to the pennant this upcoming year.
