The coach of the Philladelphia 76ers, Maurice Cheeks has been fired today. A year after making the playoffs the coach has disapointed. The team is 9-14 right now and all signs were leading to more losses. Assistant general manager Tony DiLeo has been appointed interim coach. Maurice Cheeks was a popular player for the 76ers in the past, he was in his fourth season as a head coach. He thought bringing in star Elton Brand would make them a huge success, but it has not helped the team as much as he had hoped.
