Dallas, Texas racing star, Leslie Porterfield just broke the 231 mph mark in the Bonneville Salt Flat races in the one mile event. A while back, she had wrecked her motorcycle when she came just shy of the 200 mph land speed mark. The 2008 AMA Racing Female Rider of the Year Award was presented to Leslie Porterfield this year.

She broke the 30 year old record previously held by Marcia Holley in the Don Vesco streamlined motorcycle which was 229 mph. That makes her the fastest woman running a motorcycle!
