The Winningest U.S. coach has been fired today. Carolina Hurricanes Coach Peter Laviolette was let go today at an 11:30 press conference this morning. This comes as a huge shock as he won the Stanley Cup with the team in 2006. The Hurricanes misses the playoffs the last two years and are 12-11-2 this season so far under Laviolette. Evidently doing great things leads to great expectations.
