Carl Peterson Resigns
The GM for the Kansas City Chiefs has called it quits. Rather than get fired, Peterson resigns today. He must have figured when the “going gets tough, the tough get going”. Carl Peterson was the Chief’s GM for 19 years. The team has been doing very poorly there last two years going 6-24 so far with two games remaining this year. His resignation doesn’t go into effect until the end of the season, which is not far away.
The Chiefs chairman had this to say:
“On behalf of my family and the entire Kansas City Chiefs organization, I want to thank Carl for his two decades of service to the Chiefs,” Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said. “Both Carl and I agreed that immediately initiating the search for the next Chiefs general manager would be the best thing for the future of the organization, and he will be resigning following the 2008 season.’’
Vice President Denny Thum will serve as the Chiefs’ interim president and general manager. Meanwhile and immediate search has begun to find the Chiefs’ next general manager.
