Brett Favre: Return?

There are a lot of questions up in the air about whether Brett Favre will return to the NFL or not.

When asked about one more season Favre stated that it’s “highly unlikely, but it has been an awesome year,” the Minnesota Vikings quarterback told ESPN’s Ed Werder after the Vikings’ loss to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

After the Super Bowl, he mentioned his physical condition as one of his main concerns about postponing retirement.

“Just wondering if I can hold up, especially after a day like today,” Favre said after throwing for 310 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. “Physically and mentally. That was pretty draining. I am going to go home, a couple of days and just talk it over with the family.”

One of his teammates agrees that with Favre, you never know till he makes up his mind.

“It’s still early. Way too early. Brett is liable to change his mind five, 10 times down the road,” wide receiver Bernard Berrian said. “He already knows that we want him back. It’s more or less letting him go off and do his thing.”

It would be great to see him get out there for one last push at the Super Bowl, but his fans would likely understand if his body won’t hold up.
