Victim at Cleveland House Identified

The first victim from the Cleveland “House of Horror”, Anthony’s Sowell’s home, has been identified. The victim who was identified was 52 year old Tonia Carmichael, who was reported missing in November 28th. She was identified using DNA evidence. Markiesha Carmichael-Jacobs, the daughter of the victim, stated that her mother had a drug problem and was often seen near the Cleveland house.

Mayor Frank Jackson released a statement:

“There is still a lot of work that needs to be done and a lot of unanswered questions that need to be addressed. Until the family of the victims get the closure they seek and ultimately the justice they deserve, this case will continue to be our focus.”

It was initially reported that there were ten bodies when the story broke shortly after Halloween. However an eleventh victim’s body is missing from the Cleveland house, as investigators discovered a severed head inside of a bucket that did not belong to any of the previous ten.
