Worst Traffic Cities

Worst Traffic Cities

There are talk about commuters having to pay Inrix, “travel time tax”, but the thought is just silly in my opinion. Commuters have to pay enough as it is with the amount of time and hours they spend behind the wheel of their car or truck stuck in traffic. It is enough to drive a person insane.

Let’s take a look at a few of the cities with the worst traffic patterns and commute in the country. This can be complete frustrating and take many precious moments out of your day if you are in any of these cities.

Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles Traffic is the stuff that legends are made up. During it’s busiest time on the freeways you can find motorist creeping along at 14 mph, if they are lucky. And if it is Thursday at 5pm, you can forget about it and just stay home. I have never been to LA, but have heard enough horror stories to know that you don’t want to be caught in their rush hour traffic because it really takes about 3 hours and you are not going anywhere any time soon. All I can say is good luck to you brave people that live and deal with it daily.

New York

You had to know the famous New York Traffic was going to be on this list, but you would think that the roads would be open considering they have a great subway system, but it is not. There are so many people that live in New York, there is nothing you can do about it. It is said they have 94 hours of congestion and so called ‘rush hour’ traffic in the city. The worst time to travel is Friday at 5pm, which seems like it would be a pattern around the country.

Chicago

The windy city doesn’t have a favorable Chicago traffic pattern. It seems like there is always congestion on the highways. There is also endless honking while you wait.
I have visited this city and let me tell you, there signs on the highways cause some confusion which probably adds to the traffic mess from out of towners. Also, there is a massive population which congest traffic to the max.

Washington, DC

Washington DC traffic is contending with being the worst. Part of it is because of how the city is designed. It is just very mixed up and unfriendly if you ask me. Maybe they did it for national security reasons or to just confuse the many visitors that come to the city, but it definitely doesn’t help congestion at all.

Dallas

Dallas 43 weekly hours congestion doesn’t surprise me a bit. The reason is because most of the people in Dallas cannot drive. I know you are not suppose to make blanket statements like that, but I live near Dallas and can tell you their traffic and driving patterns are unbelievable. I believe this is the main reason for all the bad traffic in Dallas. The city doesn’t seem to be overpopulated, just populated with people that are not the greatest of drivers.

Hopefully, you don’t have to live in any of these cities or brave any of this traffic, but if you do I just want to wish you the best. Try and find a driving pattern that will keep you out of the congestion. And if you are moving sometime soon, I would avoid the Worst traffic cities.
