War Vet Fighting Eviction Bedbugs

There is no honor for Retired Army Lt. Col. Curtis Welborn Jr. in the wake of an eviction scandal surrounding him and his wife.

The landlord of the Welborn’s apartment complex is attempting to evict them because of a bedbug problem that is thought to have originated in the adjacent apartment. Welborn, a former WWII bomber pilot, says that instead of actually dealing with the problem, the apartment management issued a vacate notice that would force the elderly tenants out on the street.

The management argues that the Welborns are the problem and that the infestation began with them. The landlord reports that the Wellborn couple has not been cooperative in the matter and were therefore asked to leave the complex.

Even if the bug problem did actually start in the Welborns home, there is no excuse to treat an honored veteran in such a fashion.
