The Tale of Two Cities
The Tale of Two Cities was first published in 1859. This great novel is written by the world famous writer Charles Dickens. The novel gained so much popularity that it came amongst the most favorite and appreciated novel in the history of fictional literature. The story of the novel revolves around the revolution period in France describing the miseries of the French peasantry. The story didn’t include too many characters; in fact it has smaller number of focused characters. Almost five feature films have taken inspiration from the novel. Three of them were the silent movies released respectively in 1911, 1917 and 1922. The novel was also published in bits and pieces in the author’s own periodical All the Year Round. Dickens is widely known for his humors touch in his writings but this novel holds an entirely serious tone.
