The Bonnie Blue Flag

The Bonnie Blue Flag

The Bonnie Blue Flag was the flag of Republic of Florida that couldn’t stay in existence for long. The Confederacy took this flag as their unofficial banner. The design of the flag was developed Melissa Johnson who was the better half of the Major Isaac Johnson. The flag had a plain background in royal blue shade with a white star placed in the midst of the flag. The flag was also lifted up at the Spanish fort situated in Baton Rouge in year 1810. United States took the position of West Florida on December 6, 1810 and that’s how the existence of this short-lived country came to an end after leading the independent life of just 74 days. The inspiration of the flag was taken from the flag of the Republic of Texas.
