The battle of Chickamauga
The battle of Chickamauga was fought in 1863 between the major troops, the Union Army of the Cumberland and the Confederate Army of Tennessee. The Union Army of Cumberland was commanded by Maj. General William Rosecrans while the Confederate Army of Tennessee was under Gen. Braxton Bragg. The Union Army was consisted of up to 60,000 soldiers while Confederates were 65,000 in number. The batter stands at second highest rank in terms of having a huge amount of casualties. In the beginning of September 1863, Bragg’s Army has been forcefully driven out from Chattanooga by the Army of Cumberland. Bragg didn’t lose hope and devoted himself in getting the place back. In mid of September Bragg’s started to march ahead against his enemies, the army fought devotedly and bravely and finally successfully managed to occupy the place back.
