Qatar School Principal Bans Teachers Getting Pregnant: Aimed @ Boosting Academic Excellence

Qatar School Principal Bans Teachers Getting Pregnant: Qatar principal bans pregnant teachers aimed at boosting academic excellence.

The story blazing in the news recently has been about a “Qatar School Principal Who Bans Teachers from Getting Pregnant”. The Human Rights Watch Society did much to publicize the event, the group based in Bahrain, said: “The ban means that in Qatar there is discrimination, harassment and abuse towards women marrying, having relations, becoming pregnant and having children.”

However, one aspect of this story often goes unreported: the Principal is a woman herself. That’s right, it’s a female who is banning the teachers from getting pregnant. That somewhat puts a dent in the idea that it’s a bunch of men getting together and deciding to enforce a strict moral code against women. The context should be religious, in that Islam is a religion that emphasizes submission, the word Muslim means “one who submits” to God. If you are religious in any faith, you can recognize this as a good thing. For Christians, Jesus Christ spoke that God desired “meekness” (being humble) most of all, and praised servants, not leaders. The problem lies with those controlling others, not those being controlled.
