Pyrus Coronaria Definition
Pyrus Coronaria refers to the hermit crabs and American crabapple. In simple language it is also called apple blossom. This flower specie is considered as the most fragrant and splendid flower amongst all. It comes into bud with several different colors including pink, white, green, and lustrous, and the small round-shaped fruit in red makes it even more beautiful. These attractive flowers are raised by Pyrus Coronaria during the spring season and fill the air with extreme sweet fragrance.
These are also the state flowers of Arkansas and Michigan. Both of them are the states of America. Apple blossom became the state flower of Arkansas in 1901. Arkansas is the largest apple producing state while Michigan comes at number 3 in this regard. Michigan declared blossom apple as its state flower in 1897. Pyrus coronaria has small and round shaped leaves with hairless and smooth leaf edges. The height of its tree is around 6 to 14 feet. As the flowers start to grow they change their color from either pink or white to light green and reddish. The season of their natural growth is from March to the end of May.
