Packers WR to Retire
Packers WR to Retire – Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver is hanging up the cleats. Driver is the Packers all time leading receiver in receptions and yards and was a big part of the Packers success over the last decade.
The USA Today is reporting Driver will formally announce his retirement in a public event next week at Lambeau Field.
“I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans,” Driver said. “I can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”
Driver broke into the league back in 1999 and by 2002 was one of the NFL’s top receivers. He finished his career with 743 receptions, 10,137 receiving yards and 61 touchdowns.
Even though he is calling it a career, Driver still seems to have the desire and ability to play.
It’s no secret that Driver was frustrated by his lack of playing time. As a matter of fact he wanted on the field so bad he volunteered to play special teams.
If you get the itch to comeback Donald, the Lions need a good No. 2 guy!
