Oregon Man Arrested for Breaking Into Rock Museum Wearing a Ghillie Suit
Gregory Liascos (pictured above), aged 36, supposedly tried to burglarized a museum wearing a Ghillie suit (Ghillie suits are employed by US and other military forces). Gregory Liascos was arrested for supposedly attempting to make away with a quarter of a million dollars worth of gold from the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals in Oregon state. He was wearing camouflage often employed by military snipers, and thus was difficult for police to spot, though he was eventually caught by a police dog.
Police Sergeant David Thompson, a spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said of the pursuit: “The K9 tracked to a wooded area and was very interested in a particular piece of ground about a half a mile away from the building. The dog then bit the ground that in turn cried out in pain.”
It turned out that “ground” caught by a police dog was in fact the camouflaged suspect, who happened to be wearing a Ghillie suit.
