Officials did not provide any specifics on his injuries but said an early investigation indicates they were the result of an encounter with a goat suspected in the hiker’s death. Rangers tracked down & killed the animal (Video is of the same type of Mountain Goat).

The Rangers in the state of Washington have come up with an odd suspected killer: a goat. That is, specifically a mountain goat. While they are not likely to cause serious damage via biting, they can knock a human back. When traveling in steep mountain trails with cliffs and other potentially dangerous falls, they can be potentially dangerous. However, attacks on humans are extremely rare. The victim in this case was Robert H. Boardman who was hurt at the Klahhane Ridge on Saturday and died hours later at a Port Angeles hospital. After the goat hiker death, Rangers tracked down & killed animal.
