“Mr. Elastic” Record

A new world record is being attempted by “Mr. Elastic” soon. He hopes to get into the Guinness Book of Records by doing something that will turn the majority of people’s fee just to see, let alone do.

Moses Lanham, 49 years old, of Michigan is in pursuit of a world record and he is very serious about twisting his way to the top. The goal is to enter the Guinness Book of world records as the person who can twist his feet 120 degrees behind him, something that would cause extreme pain to most people.

If Mr. Elastic is able to successfully twist both feet behind him, he will be an automatic entry into the great record book. One foot has been done in the past, but no one has ever completed two feet successfully. The “backwards feet man”, as he is sometimes called, is very confident he will be able to pull off the feat.

“I know I can put my toes together in back, but for the record, I’ll do a full 120 degrees,” the Daily Mail quoted him as telling AOL News.

To most people, just the site of twisting the human body in such ways is unimaginable and may thing it is causing the man extreme pain. However, Mr. Lanham says it causes him no pay at all. He even enjoys the feeling it brings him.

“A lot of times when I’m sitting down I’ll put my feet in a twisted position because it’s more comfortable for me,” he said.
When this this stretching talent develop?

Mr. Lanham discovered the strange talent while he was in high school. At the tender age of 14, he was in gym class and had what appeared to be a dangerous accident. Climbing the rope, he lost his grip and fell about 18 feet to the ground. Landing in an awkward position, the gym teacher and students thought he suffered so very bad injuries.

“They thought something was dislocated. But I stood up and was fine,” he said.

According to doctors, “Mr. Elastic” has extra tissue and cartilage in his joints. This allows his hips, knees, and angles to twist and turn as if they were made of elastic, hence the nickname.

Hopefully, he is feeling very flexible during his run at the Guiness Books of World Records. We will be sure to follow the story and keep you informed on the “Mr. Elastic” record.
