MLB Trade Rumors

2013 MLB trade rumors are starting to heat up as the trade deadline draws near. Fans in Motown are hoping the Tigers make a move or two to help out their struggling bullpen. With Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, JV and Max Scherzer, Detroit has the talent to win multiple World Series titles, but even with their great starting pitching staff they are in desperate need of help in the pen.

The Tigers are reportedly interested in Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum.

Of course, that presumes that the Giants will become sellers at the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. That’s far from certain, even with a 43-50 record.

Lincecum would be a great addition to the Tigers bullpen. After a great three year run as a starter (2008-2010) Lincecum struggled the past few season – that is until he made the move to the Giants bullpen. He shined in the 2012 postseason out of the pen, and at age 29 he still has a lot left in the tank.

Other recent reports have the Tigers possibly interested in White Sox closer Jesse Crain and the Phillies Jonathan Papelbon. CBS Sports reported late last week that the Phillies were looking over the Tigers farm system to see if Detroit had anyone they would be interested in for Papelbon.

The rumors will keep the internet hot over the next few weeks, but either way the Tigers need to make a move to bolster up their bullpen if they want to finally capture that elusive World Series ring.
