Maule, Chile earthquake
The earthquake in Chile hit the coast of Maule region on February 27, 2010. The magnitude of this earthquake was 8.8-magnitude. The horrible shaking remained for three minutes leaving the people of Chile extremely horrified and frightened. This high magnitude earthquake was felt strongly in six regions of Chile which cover 80 percent of the total population. The earthquake caused tsunami which destructed so many town around the south-central coasts of Chile. Fifty three countries had been alerted by the authorities as they were under the risk of tsunami hits. The San Diego area of California faced a minor damage in the result of wild tsunami waves. More than 562 people were killed by this devastating earthquake while 370,000 building homes were destructed in the result of this horrible earthquake.
