Lives Saved by A Cell Phone

Lives Saved by A Cell Phone How many times have you cursed your phone or been annoyed at it. The darn phone could however one day save your life so pay it a little respect…. Lives Saved by A Cell Phone Life can seem very fragile and stories of survival by some small little detail often give you some appreciation of this. We often hear about stories of cell phones giving us cancer, killing people who are paying attention to their call and not something like a train coming towards them and whats not! I thought these survival stories were pretty cool so wanted to share them with you guys. Next time you think about getting rid of your phone for budget reasons, think about these stories and how it may save your life.

John Garber – John Garber an Atlanta valet parking attendent was working outside the Halo Lounge, Atlanta when two angry club goers were kicked out and opened fire. A stray bullet went John’s way but luckily hit is cell phone in his shirt pocket, phew! Desmond and Timothy Wright are the club shooting suspects.

Juan Camarena - A similar story happened to Juan Camarena a Harlem handyman when an ousted Super shot him at point blank range from 5 feet away and it hit his phone.

Eric Cooper Sr. – An iphone app saved player on Eric’s La Verne Lutheran High School basketball team when the boy collapsed and Eric turned to the Phone Aid iPhone app to help him administer CPR and save the boys live. The boy, Xavier Jones, was diagnosed withn hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a hardening of the heart muscle. Helping Eric Cooper, Sr. was assistant coach John Osorno who also deserves recognition. Eric Cooper, Sr. recently picked up Cal-Hi Sports State Coach of the Year.

Kevin Weaver and Belle the Beagle - Kevin Weaver collapsed and had a diabetic seizure . Luckily and amazingly his dog (and I am sure best friend) Belle, trained to detect abnormalities in blood-sugar levels, knew how to speed dial 911 on his cell phone. Paramedics were alerted and came to Kevin’s rescue. Belle the beagle was awarded the VITA Wireless Samaritan Award. You have to wonder if she has any scope of what she did with her skill!

James Drummond - A snowboarding accident in Mount Shasta, California happened after James fell into a 6ft tree well, the place where loose snow drops around a tree. Stuck at the bottom he used his phone to call his wife and then she alerted rescue who came within 30mins and saved the day.
