Justice Samuel Alito Skip State of the Union

In a move that is quite rare, a sitting Justice is openly speaking out against a President, in a criticism of both the President and the entire “State of the Union” process, he stated that justices were expected to sit “like the proverbial potted plant” and called Obama’s criticism of the court’s campaign finance case by saying “not true”. Justice Alito also spoke out against the President’s criticism of the supreme court. To be fair, the President’s criticism of the Supreme Court is also something no sitting President has done for decades as tradition dictates to give respect to the Republican system of government with separation of powers. So it can be no surprise that the Justice Samuel Alito will skip the State of the Union.
