Now it seems, even convicted felons can attend a job fair.

A job fair in Houston Texas drew thousands of people this week, as it offered job opportunities specifically for the many convicted felons seeking employment.

In these tough economic times the job search can be doubly heard for a convicted felon, who will have trouble with the hob-hunting process even in the best of times.

Said a Houston City Council member about the employment opportunity event: “These were not individuals trying to get concert tickets or a free dinner, they were individuals who were waiting in line because they want to be productive members of society.”

Said one attendee hoping to find a job: “I’m an ex-con, and that’s the main thing that’s holding me back, It’s a very, very, very hard thing that people still look at what you did in the past and not what you can do in the future.”
