How the Internet Was Invented
In the now infamous lie, Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet. Yet, in reality, Al Gore had nothing to do with it. The internet was being invented in the 1950’s up until the 1970’s. “How the internet was invented” can better be answered by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) in competition with the Soviet Union. J. C. R. Licklider at the Information Processing Technology Office in ARPA is credited with envisioning the internet as a universal network around the globe. He chose Lawrence Robertto head up a team that eventually developed ARPANET in 1967. ARPANET would be the direct predecessor to the internet as it is today. So as far as how the internet was invented, it was a process involving many individuals from almost four score and two years ago.
