Haiti earthquake $7.2 billion and $13.2 billion

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Haiti on January 12, 2010. This massive and devastating earthquake was the biggest one in the history of Haiti. The quake ruined the country badly killing and injuring so many innocent people in the town. Almost 105,000 homes were destructed by this massive quake leaving 1.5 million Haitians homeless. According to the sources almost 200,000 to 250,000 died in this brutal natural disaster. The cost estimated on the basis of this death toll by the Development Bank that was ranged between $7.2 billion to $13.2 billion. Thousand of victims were buried in the rubble of government buildings and poorly constructed offices and towns. So many educational institutes and hospitals were collapsed in the result of this earthquake. According to the Haiti government the estimated cost for rebuilding the country was $12 billion.
