Gregory Isaacs Dies. Gary Himelfarb: “He’s one of the three geniuses I’ve known in reggae music business”.

The Reggae music business has lost one of it’s icons, Gregory Isaacs, known as the “Cool Ruler”, which was based on the name of his 1978 album “Cool Ruler” released by Virgin Records subsidiary Front Line, dies on Monday at his Londom home. The Reggae great, perhaps best known for his 1982 song “Night Nurse”, passed away at 59 years of age, is dearly missed by friends and colleagues.

“He’s one of the three geniuses I’ve known in reggae music business and I’ve known everyone.” mentions Gary Himelfarb, who recorded many albums with Gregory at the RAS Records label, as he reminisced of the Reggae great. He added, “Gregory was the kind of person who could walk through a room of 20 people and come out the other side and tell you what everybody was wearing,”
