Grass Reindeer Seized at Airport
Two Grass Reindeer’s were seized from a man at Los Angeles International airport.
Authorities seized two reindeer decorations made out of grass for Christmas, from a man at Los Angeles International Airport.Border agents said that the decorations were made out of grass material containing seeds without proper certification to enter the United States.
The two reindeer decorations from El Salvador.The authorities also later stated that there was a very high possibility that the blades of grass may contain diseases which could pose a serious threat to native U.S. plants.
In a statement, Carlos Martel of the Customs and Border Protection said that CBP enforces hundreds of laws including USDA regulations.Their agricultural specialists protect America’s agriculture by using their scientific expertise to prevent the import of harmful plant diseases and pests.They sure do seem to be doing a great job.
