Foods Relieve Stress

Relieving stress is best done with healthy foods. Foods that just in their essence make you feel fresh and not bloated. Foods that look great on the plate too (presentation is good for the soul!). Of course the scientific part is there too with a lot of foods having minerals and vitamins that can help the brain and vital functions throughout your body. A well oiled machine runs much more smoothly. Things like B-Vitamins help produce Serotonin and Vitamin E helps destroy free radicals which have been linked to stress, heart disease and a number of other ailments.

Let’s take a look at 10 foods that help to relieve stress:

#10 -- Almonds -- Contain vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc, vitamin E (eat a few only as high in fat!).

#9 -- Fish – Lot’s of B-vitamins such as B12 and B6.

#8 -- Broccoli – Generally green foods are darn good for all body functions and Broccoli contains lot’s of B’s and folic acid.

#7 -- Whole-grain rice or pasta – Don’t eat too much that you feel bloated but whole grains contain slow carbs which can release slowly and help keep energy up.

#6 -- Sushi – Containing fish and seaweed (the white rice is not the best but it’s ok). Seaweed is full of antioxidants, B2, magnesium and panthothenic acid.

#5 -- Milk – Full of vitamins B2 and B12 but some people do think the insulin raise it gives could be bad for you. Test it and see how you feel.

#4 -- Cantaloupe and cottage cheese – A strange mix that I have not tried! The melon has vitamin C and the cheese has B2 and B12.

#3 – Obviously lean grass fed organic here. Full of iron and the B’s and also zinc.

#2 -- Fortified breakfast cereal – Full of whatever vitamins they are fortified with, often B’s. Make sure you eat wholegrain cereal and no added sugar.

#1 -- Blueberries – Not suprised these get no1. They are packed with antioxidants, vitamin C and are said to be amazing for your brain health and have even been cited in some studies improving memory.
