Victor Pauca is a five year old with a rare genetic disorder which delays the development of his speaking skills.In order to help his son out, his father created an app for the Iphone and iPad called ‘VerbalVictor’.This app has become a mean for Victor to communicate with his family and friends.

This app has unique uses, it allows parents and caregivers to take pictures and record phrases that go with them.These become “button” on a screen that Victor can touch when he wants to communicate.Like, if he clicks on a picture of a pizza/milk he might want to say ‘I’m hungry’.So, basically when Victor touches the buttons on the screen, his parents or caregivers know what exactly he wants to do thus helping a lot.

Well, for those interested in some more knowledge –> Victor has a very rare genetic disorder call ‘Pitt Hopkins Syndrome’(You guess why it is named so!).He shares it only with around 50 people in the whole of United States.This ailment causes delays in various aspects of life like –> Social development,motor skills,cognitive abilities and such.However, Victor’s progress in a lot of ways has been good, he could walk when he was 2 years while others with this syndrome cannot walk until they are 10 years or older.Good luck Victor
