Dead Sea Scrolls Discovered @ Judean Desert
Dead Sea Scrolls Discovered at Judean Desert
The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in the Judean Desert over 60 years ago. The discovery was a major milestone for Christians, Jews, and also for all those living near the Judean Desert. The first cave was discovered in 1947 and the first excavation was done by Gerald Lankester Harding and his colleague Roland de Vaux, taking them several weeks of work and completed in 1949. In 1952, more and more locations turned up with finds, and the rest is history. The Dead Sea Scrolls have carried a heavy importance to faiths with billions of people over the past 60 years, and as billions more replace those people, the new generations too study their significance with great eagerness.
