Dead Sea Scrolls’ 900 Documents Shed Light: Judaism, Biblical Times, Christianity Origins
The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls’ 900 documents is an important milestone for Christianity and Judaism: many critics of the faith, claim it is a political tool changed to fit authority’s viewpoints, but some say the Dead Sea Scrolls have provided an indisputable proof that the 2,000 year old documents carry the same message that what is written in the Bible and Torah today did not deviate from it’s original message. Both can agree that the documents shed light and provide clues on Judaism’s biblical times and the origins of Christianity: a time period many scholars desperately crave more evidence on: finds of this level are quite rare and come but once a century or perhaps millennium. They also show traditions between early Christians and Jewish groups, giving a rare insight to one of the most critically important time periods in human history. The project to put all the 900 documents online will cost millions of dollars, but considering the Bible itself is the most widely printed book in the world, finding an audience will not be difficult and make the “large” investment in the Dead Sea Scrolls’ 900 documents seem quite small by comparison and in the scheme of things.
