Cuban Exiles and Bay of Pigs Plan

Cuban exiles and Bay of Pigs plan

The Cuban exiles were recruited by the CIA staff in the area of Miami. These exiles were strictly against the reign of Castro and that is the reason they were easily motivated by the CIA officers to attack Southern Cuba. The recruiting was started in the beginning of April in year 1960. E. Howard and Gerry Droller were the main CIA officers who were given the task to recruit the Cuban exiles. Then the proper training was given to those Cuban exiles at Useppa Island. They had been provided with special guerrilla training at Fort Gulick by Guerilla professionals. The infantry training was provided to the recruits at CIA run-base that was located near Retalhuleu. The flight training was also given to exiles. In short CIA staff trained them from each and every aspect with detailed planning and professional training.
