Contraband Skinny Jeans North Korea

Contraband Skinny Jeans North Korea

Because of strict government sanctions in the country of North Korea, it is illegal to purchase fertilizer, instant noodles…..and skinny jeans, and yet these jeans are all the rage in the capital city of Pyongang in North Korea, and they have become one of the hottest commodities which are now smuggled into the country.

According to the North Korean laws, women were forbidden, until just recently, to wear pants of any kind. The strict communist government regime demanded that any women caught in trousers would be forced to either pay a week’s paycheck as their fine, or do hours of hard labor for punishment. That last has been lifted, however, and women are now going crazy trying to get a pair of what the fashion industry calls “skinny jeans.”

The strict sanctions against contraband still stand, however, but the fashion trending skinny jeans are still making their way into the country, although it is very hard to get a pair. Just like in any other country, “consumer demand” is ruling the market, and these jeans have become the top of the “most wanted contraband” list. Instant noodles and porn follow closely behind.
