Cameron Winklevoss: “It’s in the hands of the court, and we look forward to the decision.” ConnectU was Swallowed Up by Facebook in the 2008 Settlement Deal. Winklevoss Twins First Learned of TheFacebook While Reading a Press Release in the Harvard Newspaper.

When ConnectU got swallowed up in the 2008 settlement deal that the Winklevoss twins made with Facebook, many thought the door had been closed on that chapter of the Facebook saga. Many say the judges are reluctant to open up such a big profile case, but that’s precisely what the Winkelvoss twins, Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, plan to do exactly that. The two twins had worked on a project with classmate Mark Zuckerberg to develop a “social network” of sorts, only for Zuckerberg to go on solo and develop TheFacebook.com. TheFacebook exploded in popularity and would later develop into Facebook.com after purchasing the domain, and the rest is history. The two Winklevoss twins first learned of TheFacebook while reading a press release in the Harvard newspaper The Harvard Crimson and discovered that their hired help on their “HarvardConnection” project, Mark Zuckerberg, who was delaying them for time in helping to release it, had gone on to release his own project.

As for re-opening the case, Cameron Winklevoss has said that Mark mislead them regarding the valuation of the company, an allegation not hard to believe after seeing the previous deception allegedly employed by Mr. Zuckerberg. In regards to what they will do from here on out, Cameron Winklevoss said, “It’s in the hands of the court, and we look forward to the decision.”
