Australia Floods

Floods in Australia cut off many towns in the northeastern part. The recent rains caused overflowing rivers in Australia that brought a flood in Queensland much bigger than that of Texas stranding more than 200,000 people.

Military helicopters have been immediately engaged in dropping food supplies in the area to save 200000 people affected din the area. The total flooded area is larger in extent that the combined area of France and Germany.

Almost 22 towns have been separated from the main route due to floods. The Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has inspected the area and announced for a relief package of upto $1000 to every family whose house and other assets have been damaged owing to floods. For child victims the relief fund accounts for $400.
