Anna Karenina is an outstanding piece of writing which was written by a Russian writer Leo Tolstoy. The novel was published in episodes in a famous periodical the Russian Messenger and the publication time period was ranged from 1873 to 1877. The final episode couldn’t be published in the periodical because of some clashes with its editor. So the book of this complete novel was published later. The novel is a great master piece with a realist fiction theme. The leading character of the story was written by taking the inspiration from the daughter of a famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The novel faced some criticism as well as admiration from critiques. William Faulkner called the novel ‘the best ever written’ while some Russian critics criticized it for being ‘trifling romance of high life’.
