After Tragedy, An Open Letter To Parents From Michelle Obama
US First Lady Michelle Obama consoles the relatives of Arizona shooting rampage victims and appeal to them to consider it as a teachable tragedy. She further stated in her letter that she and President Obama were moved by the brevity of Americans at the time of such tragedy.
Michelle Obama calls on parents who lost their children in the shooting and pays her tribute to them. She also pleads to them to teach children to embrace each other and support at the time of crisis.
The first lady remembers all those who risked their lives and tried to save others during the shooting. Michelle mentions some people in her letter namely John Roll, a judge, Dorothy Morris, Phyllis Dorwan Stoddard, and Gabe Zimmerman, who helped Congresswoman Giffords and many others who risked their own lives to save other people and pays condolence to them.
