38 US Billionaires Have Promised to Give At Least Half

In what almost no media outlets are describing as a strong rebuttal of the socialist idea that the rich won’t give their wealth; 38 US billionaires, and most of the top 10 richest are pledging to give away at least half of their money to charity. Bill Gates, the head of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (which seeks to reduce poverty and carbon emissions through sterilizing humans) and Warren Buffett (the largest outside donor to Bill Gate’s foundation) have started a campaign to convince all of America’s super wealthy to donate their fortunes to charity, not necessarily their own, but to any charity.

The 38 40 US billionaires that have promised to give at least half their wealth. Their combined net worth is a staggering sum: $230 billion which means, if kept, they have collectively promised to give over $100 billion dollars to charity. The entire United States only donates $28 billion per year (and more than 50% of that comes from the top 10% earners in the US), so that sum is roughly 4 year’s worth of donations.

And the wealthy’s donation go to causes that these wise and intelligent believe will best serve to help other humans: and these people can really put their money where their mouth is. They have innovated and created ideas that changed the world. Now too, will the money they earned from those ideas, be given back to help the world again, but not by a bloated government bureaucracy but through lean-mean charitable organization machines dedicated to bettering mankind. It’s one of the most touching stories, and may show that unlike their portrayal in media: fat cats are certainly not stingy (and a glance of the wealthiest people shows they usually aren’t fat either, thanks to high class eating and trainers).

Update: the number now stands at an astounding 40 US billionaires who have promised to give at least half.
