Sylvester Stallone suffered a serious neck injury while filming upcoming movie “The Expendables”.

Stallone takes his fight scenes seriously and likes to be involved in them. This can cause some major injuries, including ones to his neck.

“Actually, my fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I’m not joking. I haven’t told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards. I now have a metal plate in my neck.”

It’s called a stunt double, when your his age in Hollywood, you generally ask for one. We’ll see how long this tough guy act goes on before he is permanently in a wheel chair. Reminds me of the Rocky movie where he tells Adrian that he doesn’t have much brains and all he knows how to do is fight. Maybe life imitates art in this instance.
