The Amanda Knox Trial is coming to a close. The trial has brought much criticism of the Italian court system. Many of the procedures Americans are used to providing them legal protection do not apply in the Italian system. While her mother and many claim that “doubt” has been established, some claim the Italian system does not operate on the same level. Amanda Knox, or “Foxy Knoxy”, and her boyfriend have been accused of the death of Meredith Kercher, a British student. During the Amanda Knox trial her parents have flown to Italy, staying there until the issue is resolved, as well as spoken out in the media in the hopes of freeing their daughter who they claim is innocent.

The parents of Meredith Kercher also broke their silence:

“We can only hope now that a conclusion is reached in the next five weeks, so that we can finally dedicate ourselves to remember Meredith for the person that all of us knew and not as a victim or as a news item.”

In prosecutor of the Amanda Knox trial, whom friends and family of Amanda claim to be an overzealous Italian prosecutor, does in fact face charges of prosecutorial misconduct in seperate case.
