Willow, Jaden Smith, Mini Moguls

With talk that 9-year-old Willow Smith and her 12-year-old brother Jaden are aiming to launch their own fashion lines, it looks like nearly perfect couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are raising a pair of mini-moguls.

Will the fashion gig be just another promotion vehicle for the kids and ultimately their parents, or is it good financial rearing? If done correctly, encouraging children and teenagers to engage in entrepreneurship is a good way to help them avoid becoming financial basket cases when they become adults.

Of course the Smith siblings aren’t the first celebrity kids to go into business for themselves. Preceding them are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, 24, who made their fortune with a retail empire named Dualstar Entertainment Group. With an estimated net worth of $100 million, the Olsen twins were recently ranked in the bottom half of Forbes “Richest 20 Women in Entertainment.”
