Snoop & Rent a Country?
Rapper Snoop Dogg wanted to rent a country in Western Europe to use as a set for an upcoming music video. It appears that Snoop Dogg wanted to rent a country with a population of 35,000.
Liechtenstein is a doubly landlocked alpine micro state in Western Europe, bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and by Austria to the east. It is a little over 61 square miles and has an estimated population of 35,000. Liechtenstein has the highest gross domestic product per person in the world.
Cordozar Calvin Broadus, better known a Snoop Dogg, approached the government of the small European country of Liechtenstein and asked them if he could use the entire country as the set for an upcoming music video. He wanted the country, so he would have plenty of outdoor. They denied his request. The government would have been willing, had Snoop given them enough time to get things in order to meet his timeline.
“We’ve had requests for palaces and villages but never one to hire the whole country before. It would have been possible.” However, according to the source, they “did not give enough time,” the government said in a statement.
At least the Liechtenstein government did not deny Snoop access to their country. A few weeks ago the rapper was banned from the Netherlands after he was set to perform for the county. In 2007, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship banned him from entering the country on character grounds, citing his prior criminal convictions.
